EXHIBITION DATES AND LOCATIONS
Wednesday, 26 January to Sunday, 6 February 2011
Brighton Surf Life Saving Club; Bindarra Reserve; and various “Sculpture Walk” locations (to be decided) along the Esplanade, Brighton, South Australia.

ENTRY FEES
$25 per entry (15 to 21 years old), $35 per entry (22+ years old), second and third entries are $20 per entry, paid on line or accompanying posted entry form.

RULES OF ENTRY

ELIGIBILITY
- All sculptures must be original concepts.
- Each artist is limited to a maximum of three sculptures with an entry fee paid for each sculpture.
- Junior entrants apply to sculptors 15 to 21yrs of age at the time of entry.
- All entries are subject to a pre-selection process.
- Emerging Artist entrants must have had no solo or group exhibitions within the medium of sculpture in the       previous five years.  This does not include educational assessment.
- Environmental Awareness entrants must include 50-100 words describing the environmental theme of the work.
- Where submitting more than one work, only one of those works can be listed as “Not for Sale”.
- Local, regional, interstate and international artists are invited.

HOW TO ENTER
- Entry forms must be completed in full. Incomplete forms will be returned.
- Please indicate on the form if you wish to also be considered for the Environmental Awareness, Emerging Artist or Junior awards.
- All successful entries will be advised by 1 December 2010 via email, post or telephone.
- All entries must have a title and a short description (max 50 words) of the artwork and the medium used. Incomplete forms will be returned.

- Photographs of each entry must be submitted by the closing date (with the exception of entrants for the outdoor “Sculpture Walk” where a detailed description may be accepted of the work to be completed).
- Entries not accepted will be advised and refunded in full.
- Entries withdrawn after successful pre-selection will not have the entry fee refunded.

JUDGING
- All decisions by the Judging Panel will be final and no discussion will be entered into.
- Environmental Awareness entries will be judged on aesthetic qualities as well as giving a clear environmental message.
- Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures is currently negotiating additional award categories with potential sponsors.
- Entry for the Junior and Emerging Artist awards is based on an honesty policy, however awards may be rescinded if your eligibility is found to be incorrect.
- The judging panel is currently being formed and judging criteria will be determined by this panel.

 
DELIVERY, EXHIBITION & COLLECTION
- A map (currently being developed) will be provided with site locations for outdoor sculptures prior to the exhibition where you may have the opportunity to indicate preferred sites.  There will also be an opportunity to view suitable areas prior to exhibiting (dates to be notified).
- Responsibility of installing and de-installing is that of the artist. If assistance is needed, it is the artist’s responsibility to supply appropriate assistance.
- Any work which cannot be installed safely may be refused entry.
- All sculptures must be placed in their display location on 24 January 2010 for indoor sculptures; and 25 January 2010 for outdoor sculptures.
- All sculptures may be photographed without fee for future advertising by Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures.
- All sculptures must be moveable, strongly secured and adhered where necessary.
- Outdoor sculptures are deemed to be sculptures that are suitable for outdoor, public display; are able to withstand the elements; are free-standing; able to be secured and can be installed in an eight hour time period.
- Artists applying for a position on the “Sculptures Walk” may submit a longer installation timeframe for consideration by the panel.
- All indoor and outdoor sculptures (unless sold) must be collected on Monday, 7 February 2011 between 9am and 5pm. Proof of identification will be required.

 
SALES AND INSURANCE
- An artist not wishing to sell their sculpture must advise on the entry form, otherwise all sculptures will be advertised for sale.

A commission of 30% from the sale of each sculpture will be retained by the Brighton Surf Living Saving Club. Sale price stated on the entry form must include commission, and GST where applicable.
All entries are exhibited at the artist’s risk. Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to artworks.
It is recommended that artists take out insurance for the period of the exhibition
